Dr. Bonnie Halpern-Felsher is a Professor in the Division of Adolescent Medicine, Department of Pediatrics and in Epidemiology and Population Health Professor and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, at Stanford University. She is also the founder and executive director of the Tobacco Prevention Toolkit, the Cannabis Awareness and Prevention Toolkit, and the new Vaping Information, Solutions, and Interventions Toolkit (VISIT). Dr. Halpern-Felsher is a developmental psychologist with additional training in adolescent and young adult health. Funded by the NIH and many foundations, her research has focused on understanding and reducing adolescent tobacco use, alcohol and marijuana use, and risky sexual behavior. Her research, including over 170 publications, committee work, and advocacy work have been instrumental in setting policy at the local, state, and national level. Officer Barry Wisecup has been an integral member of the Beavercreek Police Department since joining the agency in 2008. As a psychologist with experience that spans clinical, educational, and professional settings, Dr. Doreen Marshall has been engaged in local and national suicide prevention and postvention work for more than 15 years.

Since joining AFSP in 2014, Dr. Marshall has expanded AFSP’s menu of programs and improved program delivery through AFSP’s nationwide network of chapters. Olivia Carter is the school counselor at Jefferson Elementary School in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was named the 2021 School Counselor of the Year by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, Carter has been a school counselor for eight years. The School Counselor of the Year award honors professionals who devote their careers to advocating for the nation’s students and addressing their academic, career and social/emotional development. Carter provides school counseling services to the suburban school’s 304 students, grades K–4, 100% of whom receive free or reduced lunch.

Marc has a decade of experience in public policy and management serving as a senior advisor to members of Congress and the California State Assembly. During his time as a legislative aide, he developed numerous legislative initiatives, including Jordan’s Law.

Marc received his JD from Columbia Law School and his BA from UC Berkeley.

After a long career in business, Ed Peisner founded the Organization for Social Media Safety in 2017 after his teenage son Jordan was viciously assaulted in West Hills, CA. The attack was filmed and uploaded to social media by an associate of the attacker. Jordan was left with serious and life-long injuries from the assault. Ed decided to dedicate himself to the goal of ensuring that no other family had to endure such a terrible ordeal.

Ed now proudly travels the country teaching students, parents, and educators essential social media safety skills.

Después de una larga carrera en los negocios, Ed Peisner fundó la Organización para la Seguridad de las Redes Sociales en 2017 después de que su hijo adolescente Jordan fuera brutalmente agredido en West Hills, CA. Mike retired with 20 years of experience from a County Police Department in Maryland as a Police Corporal in 2018.  He is currently working as the Maryland Regional D.A.R.E. Coordinator through the Maryland Community Policing Institute since 2019. 

Mike started teaching DARE in 2015, and began working as a DARE Mentor in 2019. 

Mike’s main responsibility as the Regional DARE Coordinator include conducting DARE Instructor observations, and identifying training needs for in-service or continued training.  He also assists the State DARE Coordinator in conducting DARE Officer Training, and maintaining DARE training and certification records for the DARE officers in the state.
