YEMASSEE, S.C. (WTGS) — The Yemassee Police Department held the D.A.R.E. graduation for students at Fennell Elementary School.

Corporal Michael Strauss who is one of two D.A.R.E. Instructors in the 14th Circuit hosted and instructed the students during the 10-week program.

Tuesday night, 50 students graduated from the program. During the 10-week program, students learned how to prevent the use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs and combat violent behavior.

This is the third year Yemassee Police Department has sponsored a D.A.R.E. program with Hampton District One Schools.
