D.A.R.E. America Youth Advocacy Board Member from Nevada
Hello, my name is Alex! It is a an honor to be able to take part in becoming a youth ambassador for the D.A.R.E. program. I have graduated from the program and believe in everything it stands for. I also am an avid horse rider. I do dressage, jumping, and equitation. I am also a member of The United States Pony club. I enjoy being apart of this club in many ways. It keeps me active, and helps me keep my goals for the future clear. As a member of this club I have taken the role of being one of our ambassadors. I also was a participant in the MEFIYI program. This program helped me see my future, and find great opportunities. Currently I have a 3.5 GPA. I strive to be the best I can be in school. I enjoy running, and being outdoors. When I am older I would either like to be in the FBI or be an equine veterinarian or equine nutritionist. I am volunteering at the Great Basin Equine Veterinary practice currently to make it easier to pursue my dreams. I participated in 4-H which helped me stay involved and learn about what I love. My dad is a probation officer and outdoor educator/guide. He helps kids of my age to find their natural highs through outdoor leisures. I admire this and hope to be able to take part in helping kids my age be happy and successful. I am a student at Douglas High school which I love. I’m surrounded with many positive people. On the other hand, there are many people who have and continue to make poor decisions. One of the main reasons I would like to become a YAB member is to have a positive influence on the community and my peers. Becoming a part of this will help me stay involved in making a difference which is what I will, and will continue to strive for.
