The January 19 pancake breakfast fundraiser for Tracy D.A.R.E., hosted by California’s Youth Advocacy Board Member Richard Smith, was a huge success.  The net proceeds were about $1,500, nearly double the $800 that was raised last year.  Officer Steve Abercrombie distributed 1,000 flyers to all the D.A.R.E. students in the Tracy area.  All supplies, including the hall rental, were donated.  Richard Smith’s parents did the cooking, and members of the Tracy D.A.R.E. To Pay it Forward team helped with serving and cleanup.  The leftover pancakes and sausage links were donated to the local homeless shelter at the end of the event.
