Sheriff Troy D. Berry and members of the CCSO would like to congratulate PFC Lewis Payne (Thomas Stone High School), Officer Melanie Tyner (John Hanson Middle School), and Officer Eugene Caballero (Davis Middle School) who graduated from Drug Abuse and Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) training today.
The D.A.R.E. program teaches students good decision-making skills to help them lead safe and responsible lives. These officers spent two weeks learning how to teach both the elementary curriculum and the middle school curriculum.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has 14 school resource officers assigned to middle and high schools. All of our SROs and their supervisors are D.A.R.E trained and certified.
We thank them for their interest in making a positive difference in the lives of children.
