Delaney O’Sullivan

D.A.R.E. America Youth Advocacy Board Member from Illinois

Hi there! My name is Delaney O’Sullivan, and I proudly represent the beautiful state of Illinois on the Youth Advocacy Board! I am currently a sophomore at Plainfield South High School.

At school, you can find me at Politics Club, Key Club, Student Council, or running meetings at Environmental Club. During the spring, I also manage the freshman boys’ baseball team. Summertime is just as busy because I am caddying at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club or hanging out with friends. I also enjoy going to church and youth group every week along with bible studying.

D.A.R.E. has always been a big part of my life. I attended Holy Family School in Shorewood, Illinois, for my elementary and middle school years. During my time there, I completed the D. A.R.E. and D.A.R.E. 2.0 curriculum with my wonderful D.A.R.E. officer, Kim Giugler. I love the message of making healthy and safe decisions and it is something I use in my day to day life.

As a YAB member, my goal is to encourage my fellow young people to join me in healthy lifestyle. I hope to be a great representative of my state and a role model to others.

Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported me and my position on the board. I am so thankful to all my friends and family, specifically my lovely parents, John and Amanda and my siblings, Aiden and Darcey. A special thank you to my amazing D.A.R.E. officer, Kim Giugler of the Shorewood PD. She has been a role model to me for a long time and I am grateful to have her in my life.

I am so blessed to have this opportunity and look forward to doing everything I can for the my state and the D.A.R.E. program as a whole!
