NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) is proud to announce that the D.A.R.E. program is returning to the Jennings County Elementary Schools. Sheriff Kenny Freeman wants to address potential addiction issues from all angles and felt that prevention is the most important step.

D.A.R.E. teaches about interpersonal communication, internet safety, bullying, and healthy decision-making. At the end of the 10-week program that will be taught to all Jennings County 5th graders, students will receive a certificate of completion.

JCSO currently has two D.A.R.E. officers, Thomas Mellencamp and Shawn Minton.
