D.A.R.E. America Youth Advocacy Board Alumna from New Jersey
My name is Julia Manning and I’m a high school sophomore from New Jersey. I am a hardworking and dedicated student and athlete, and I have received many academic and athletic awards. But more important than personal awards in school and sports is the health and happiness of ourselves and those around us. I have seen first hand the dangers of adolescent drug and alcohol use and abuse. And I am also aware of the powerful pressures that lead kids to engage in unhealthy and dangerous behaviors.
In the future, I am planning on studying criminal justice in college, and entering law enforcement as a career.
I am honored to assist D.A.R.E. America in countering the negative influences and peer pressures that undermine the health and futures of so many people in our society. I look forward to working with other members of the Youth Advocacy Board in this important work.
