Punta Gorda Police Officer First Class Joe Angelini has been appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Children’s Services Council of Charlotte County. The Children’s Services Council advises the Board of County Commissioners on measures necessary to promote the general welfare of children in Charlotte County. Among other services, they also allocate and provide funds for other agencies operating for the benefit of children.

Joe has been a law enforcement officer in this community for the past 32 years. After retiring from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Joe joined the Punta Gorda Police Department where his passion for children is evident in his role as the School Resource Officer of Sallie Jones Elementary School.

Punta Gorda Police Chief Albert A. (Butch) Arenal stated, “We are very proud to once again see one of our organization’s best assume a leadership role in our community. Joe’s passion for the youth of this community will serve him well in his new position.”

“I am honored to work among other community leaders that dedicate their time to ensuring the welfare of our kids,” Joe commented.
