D.A.R.E. America Youth Advocacy Board Member from New York
My name is Tess Darrow and I am the New York State D.A.R.E Youth Advocacy Board representative. I am a sophomore at Pelham Memorial High School located in Pelham, New York.
For the past two years I’ve had the wonderful opportunity working with a local coalition called ‘Pelham PACT’ (Parents And Community Together). The mission of Pelham PACT is to educate and promote healthy lifestyles to the community youth. Through PACT, I’ve been able to speak to students and their parents as well as learn about strategy, event planning and legal/ financial organization. I’m also an active member of Youth to Youth to help others in their communities.
I am so honored to serve as the New York State representative and all that awaits. I believe that we should never underestimate our youth; with the right skills and mindset we can achieve greatness for the better of all. Now more than ever I have started to realize how important it is to keep my body safe from substances and I love educating myself and others on the dangerous outcomes of their decisions.
