D.A.R.E. Training Schedule
D.A.R.E. Officers undergo an unparalleled and rigorous 80-hour training course conducted by mentors with many years of experience in the classroom and university-level educators. Advanced and other specialized training courses are also presented at state and International conferences.

Iowa will host this DOT, lodging will be provided at no cost for those attending and staying at Camp Dodge. All questions and application packet request should be addressed to Terry Dehmlow, [email protected], or 319-269-4104.
Training is subject to Covid restrictions that apply for this time period.

WHO:
This is the initial two-week, 80 hour course for all Uniformed Law Enforcement and School Resource Officers who need to be certified to teach the new D.A.R.E. program known as keepin’ it REAL!
COST:
This training is TUITION FREE! All Instructor Materials, Free (Includes Elementary, Middle School, High School Curricula and Opioid, OTC / RX, Vaping and “More Than Sad” Enhancement Lessons)
LODGING:
D.A.R.E. America has contracted with the Hampton Inn (2242 Stone Side, Conroe, TX 77303). The rate of $89.00 has been granted by the Hampton Inn and this includes breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi. With tax and fees the total is $100.57 a night. If you would like to stay at the host hotel, they have blocked rooms for this training event. The Conroe ISD Police Department and D.A.R.E. America have partnered to provide this training. It is the most affordable training option available for your agency. Please do not wait to register for this class as space is limited. Don’t forget to contact Kim Hawkes for a registration application A.S.A.P.

Applicants must be full-time commissioned/sworn officers with at least two years of law-enforcement experience. If you have less than two years’ experience, you will have to apply for a waiver. Please read the seminar information sheet before selecting your D.A.R.E. Officer applicant. The slots available for this training are on a first come first serve basis.
