Will Alexander, from Carriage Hill Elementary, was this year’s winner of the D.A.R.E. Pledge Contest. Will attended the mayor’s luncheon, met famous actor Clint Howard, received his very own Daren, and rode in the 1957 Chevy D.A.R.E. car in Papillion’s annual Papillion Days parade with his D.A.R.E. officer, Officer Tony Foster.

This was the 6th year for the pledge contest. All 6th grade D.A.R.E. students are invited to enter. The pledge needs to be at least 1 paragraph long. Officer Foster picks the top 6, removes all names, and then sends them to city hall for the mayor and city administrator to pick the winner.

Congratulations to Will and his parents Casey and Stephanie Alexander.

Will Alexander’s D.A.R.E. Pledge:

I, Will Alexander, pledge not to do any type of drugs throughout my life, and never be a bully. I also promise to be the best citizen I can and help everyone I can. I will always say no to violence and make sure to keep myself safe and healthy. None of my peers will force me to do anything I will make my own choices in life. Everyone I meet in my life will not be the nicest people, but that will not stop me from being the best citizen I can.
