Presentation Title: 2013. The Impact of the Process for the Legalization of Marijuana on the Perception and Consumption of the Youth Population

Lawyer and Social Anthropologist, with a Doctorate in Anthropology from the University of Granada, Spain. Full-time researcher at the Institute of Health Sciences of the Universidad Veracruzana and teacher in the virtual master’s degree in Integral Prevention of Drug Consumption, in the Master’s and in the Doctorate in Health Sciences, postgraduate degrees registered in the National Register of Quality Postgraduate (PNPC) of CONACYT.

Xóchitl De San Jorge Cárdenas has directed research thesis for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students and presented papers at national and international conferences. She has published books and articles in indexed journals in which she has addressed issues related to her research and the regulatory framework for the prevention of drug use and the treatment and rehabilitation of addictions.

She is currently the leader of the Academic Body “Drugs and Addictions: a multidisciplinary approach” of the Universidad Veracruzana and the Veracruzana Network for Addiction Research. (REVIVA) from where she has managed collaboration agreements with national and foreign universities to carry out collaborative work in the field of addictions. She has the recognition of Desirable Profile and since 2014 she is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), where she has Level 1.
