A training seminar conference celebrating 25 years of PROERD (D.A.R.E.) was recently conducted in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. At the conference instructors were trained to strengthen drug and violence prevention education practices through the new curriculum, My Playbook, for high school students.

The seminar commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Educational Program for Resistance to Drugs and Violence (PROERD) brought together instructors from across the country of Brazil to strengthen their skills in preventing drug use and violence. The event included lectures, workshops, and conversations, providing participants with the opportunity to share experiences, learn from renowned experts and update themselves on the most effective approaches to working with high school teenagers, which was the emphasis of this training. On June 30th – July 1st, 2023, 300 military police officers from 16 Brazilian states were trained to apply the high school curriculum. Divided into 10 workshops, the training teams from Rio Grande do Sul led the instructors in this thought-provoking update.
