ST. MARYS – Sixth grade students at St. Marys Area High School were recently recognized for completing the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program.
City of St. Marys Police Department Officers Shaffer and Marconi were the presenters for the nine-week program in which students learned responsible and safe decision making, defining problems, evaluating decisions, and effective communication were key components.
All students who participated in the program received an award certificate during a recognition ceremony which recently took place on Tuesday in the gym for the entire sixth grade class, all of whom also wore the trademark black and red D.A.R.E. t-shirts.
