Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington presented young Aysia with a $50 check from the Northwest Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers Association at the Viking Drive Substation Thursday, July 6, in recognition of her honor. Aysia’s bright and cheerful personality shown through as she visited the Sheriff, along with her mother Sylvia Dudley and her sister Amaya Williams who both won the D.A.R.E. Essay contest years prior. Dep. Cedric Payne, D.A.R.E. supervisor, also presented young Aysia with a Daren the Lion stuffed animal.
Mrs. Dudley said, “we are keeping the tradition alive. I’m so proud of my two daughters as they follow in their mothers’ footsteps.”
“We are proud to have such a young leader in our community,” Sheriff Whittington responded. “You are the future of our parish and our state. And I can tell the future is very bright for you.”
One day, Aysia is planning on attending Law School.
